Palmer Outpaces Marathon
by Ranisha Charles
On Saturday the Lady Fins faced perennial district rival Palmer Trinity in a much-anticipated showdown of two solid South Florida girls’ basketball teams. In an intense game, freshman Abrianna Marshall led the team in scoring with 13 points. Working against a strong Falcons defense, point guard Leta Ricart trailed closely behind with 7 points. Coach Andre Garvey feels the Lady Fins can beat the Falcons if they just stay consistent and do their jobs. With any luck the Fins have a chance at redemption facing the Falcons in the first round of playoffs later this season.
The Lady Fins play again January 21st when they face the Conchs of Key West High School at 5:00pm right here in Marathon.
