Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the most influential voices in the American Civil Rights Movement. He bravely brought awareness to major civil rights activities, emphasizing the need to protest peacefully. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. wanted to end segregation and discrimination throughout the United States. His most famous speech “I Have a Dream” was spoken on August 18,1963 during the march on Washington for jobs and freedom. The purpose of his speech was to expose the injustices of racial inequality. It’s important to observe this holiday so we never forget the influence he had on our nation. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrates his many achievements in his life.
